Music videos that I personally admire (2)

This is another music video that I really like. I would probably say that this is one of my favourites due to the narrative; it tells the story of a young man who lost his leg in a bike crash and his journey on getting back to his old self and being able to ride again. I really like the long shots that set the scene of the narrative and also the fact that they capture the man in his personal surroundings. I also like the point of view shots that have been used an example of this is the camera being strapped to the mans bmx bike at the end which gives us as the audience a sense of his surroundings and makes us feel included in the journey. Another great shot can be found right at the start of the video when the man gets hit by the car and the bike falls on the floor. The camera is also placed on the floor at a canted angle giving the audience a sense of distortion.  I also like the fact the camera is slightly shaky, like it has been filmed on say a mobile phone as it gives a sense of reality and illustrates that life is not all glamorous at times.  Not only do I feel the camera shots/angles are powerful, I also really like the diegetic sound of the bikes at the start which gives the audience a clue about the narrative of the music video i.e. that it is about bmx riders and also creates a sense of realism. Even though I am not doing a narrative based music video, I feel that I can gain a lot of ideas from this video for example the shots and camera angles.
